Eric Treiber Appointed President & CEO

Executive is third generation of family to lead CWM.

On Dec. 18, 2009, Eric Treiber succeeded his father, Walter Treiber, as Chief Executive Officer of Chicago White Metal Casting. Walter, who held the CEO post for the last 32 years, will remain Chairman on the Board.

Previously, Eric served as the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer, focusing on enhancing transparency within the CWM team, improving client collaboration and support, and much more.

“It is an honor to lead such a hardworking team,” Eric said. “My goal is not only to maintain the health of the business, but also the well-being of the associates, suppliers and customers who rely on us.”

In addition to his responsibilities as CEO, Treiber is an active in the North American Die Casting Association (NADCA). In 2010, he will become the Secretary/Treasurer of the organization’s Board of Governors.

New CNC and FDM Machines Expand Production Capabilities

CWM recently acquired two new pieces of state-of-the-art equipment — a Leadwell MV-50i CNC Machining Center and a Dimension SST 1200 es.

The CNC machining center features a 12,000 RPM Spindle with 1416 IPM rapid movements. It allows CWM to handle larger projects, delivering on both volume and larger die castings. It also significantly enhances processing efficiency by allowing technicians to manage jobs with multiple parts and complete them with only one setup.

In addition to the CNC system, CWM has also added a new Dimension SST 1200 es. This advanced FDM system allows CWM to create more durable plastic prototypes — 40 times stronger than those previously offered.
